i was reading in the spanish forum (http://www.extj.com/foro/showthread.php?t=15396) that an old sister died from a heart atack during the memorial, but that didn't stop the ritual.
i remember a lonley very sick sister calling for help to the kh during an emergency, and the elders told her, they were busy in an elder's meeting.
she almost died and was rushed into the hospital by 'worldy' people.
The PO's wife answered the phone and when I told her my husband was in the hospital again having another heart attack she said what do you want me to do about it.
sounds about right, I was really ill for about a month a while back and called the PO to let him know I couldn't do a talk, he didn't give a shit. Called again the next week and said I was no better, just didn't even acknowledge it, just like I was a huge inconvenience to him.

a friend told me about an incident that had happened in a neighbouring congregation.
she told me that a sister from the congregation needed to get back to work after a meeting but discovered that she was boxed in.
Report him to the police and get a crime reference number, tell them he drove the car without permission (if this is true) and then it's a criminal offence and he will be made to pay for damages - you can try the small claims court too

typically, i give at least 20% on my total bill.
if the service or the waitress is especially charming, maybe more.. i wonder, when you sit at a bar/restaurant and have a meal and drinks and then order a take out ( i do this for my mother quite often) are you supposed to tip on everything, including the takeout??.
when i stay in a hotel, i typically leave 2 or 3 dollars per day for the maid.
I knew a waitress at a Marriott who regularly got a party of 10 plus who stayed at their table for an entire evening ordering drinks and enjoying live music. They typically stayed for 4 to 5 hours! She would get no more than 15 or 20 dollars for her efforts. She was regularly distressed when they'd saunter in. They were very sweet people but lousy tippers. The other waitress I knew there did the same amount of work and was thrilled with the tables, the tables my party generally stayed at. Eventually, we began to ask for the other waitress just because we felt awful for her.
funny how differently people see things, see if I (and I think nearly everyone in the UK) was in that party of 10 I would reason think of all the money we've given the Marriott with all those drinks we have bought - why would I pay more? Of course then I would expect the Marriott to fairly pay the waitress for her 5 hours work, whether she spent 5 hours serving a party of 10 or 5 hours serving 5 couples, it's all work and the job she is paid to do anyway - why pay her more just for doing her job??
In my line of work, some of the jobs I work on are easy, some are hard - I don't expect to be given a tip for completing one of the harder jobs though - it's all part of my job that I am being paid for anyway!!

At least from my perspective, the Watchtower Setup is not and has never been a secret. It is just something that many of us would consider "being below the radar" of the R&F in general.
I'm sure many in Bethel or at the Branch offices at that time could attest to that fact. Typically, it's more often a matter of what we are hearing and how we are conditioned to interpret it.
When my uncle was in Bethel, throught his various assignments, he became fairly close to Lyman Swingle. Prior to his death, Bro Swingle often privately discussed the Watchtower Setup issue and how it should be interpreted. "Off the record", as he would often say, he indirectly said that some on the GB were in favor of having a full-blown Watchtower study article on the matter while others felt it was still something that needed further discussion within the upper levels of the organization before any final decision was made. I'm sure the Service Dept would not have allowed a study article to appear in the Watchtower unless all GB members were on board!
Lyman was clearly on the side of discussing the article in the Watchtower but of course, in keeping with his position, would defer to the GB as a whole and point out that information would be presented at the appropriate time as needed.
My uncle had discussed this with some in our family (particularly my father) but it was generally a discussion that occurred at the upper levels of the organization. You figure!
So some of the questions will continue. But as far as a timeframe is concerned, the general consensus among those who were involved with the "new light," would position the new Watchtower Setup in the early fall of 1994.

thank's for that - but to ne honest I still have no idea what happened exactly in 1994 and what exactly the new setup was/is? I get the feeling many others don't either, can you please elaborate as to what the setup is, what changed in 1994 etc?
